OPEN ROAD RECORDINGS TALENT GARNERS MULTIPLE NODS FOR THE 2010 JUNO AWARDS AND SCORES 4 OUT OF 5 NOMINATIONS FOR COUNTRY ALBUM OF THE YEAR
Toronto, ON – Canadian country record label Open Road Recordings is thrilled to announce that several of their artists have earned nominations for this year’s JUNO Awards. Doc Walker, Emerson Drive, Johnny Reid, The Road Hammers and Taylor Swift as the nominees for the 2010 JUNO Awards, which will be held in April in St. John’s, Newfoundland. In addition, four of the five nominees for Country Album of the Year are on the Open Road roster. The announcements were made yesterday at the JUNO Award nominations press conference held at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Johnny Reid takes the lead with a total of four nominations, receiving nods for JUNO Fan Choice, Album of the Year, Artist of the Year and Country Album of the Year for his album Dance With Me.
Country rock group Doc Walker, who walked away with the award for Country Album of the Year in 2009 are nominated in the same category once again for their current album Go. Emerson Drive (2009 JUNO nominee) and The Road Hammers (2006 JUNO Award winners) are also nominated in this category for their releases Believe and The Road Hammers II, respectively. Receiving a nomination for International Album of The Year is country superstar Taylor Swift for her album Fearless.
